SportsMED Orthopaedic Surgery and Spine Center announces the addition of Dr. Kristina Janssen Donovan. A physiatrist, Dr. Donovan specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation. She focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of orthopaedic conditions utilizing a nonsurgical approach including medications, physical therapy, and muscle and joint injections. SportsMed Orthopaedic Surgery and Spine Center is a complete orthopaedic practice with several locations serving North Alabama.

Prior to joining SportsMED, Dr. Donovan was chief resident while completing her physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at UAB. She was the recipient of the PM&R 2012 Huang Resident Award for Clinical Excellence. Dr. Donovan graduated cum laude from Marshall University and then attended the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine followed by an internal medicine internship at the University of Louisville.

Dr. Kristina Janssen Donovan has been published in the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Knowledge Now. Dr. Donovan is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Medical Association of Alabama, and the Alabama Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
