Family and friends remember murder victim in Youngstown

Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Family and friends came together on Sunday to remember a young man who was killed 12-years ago on Youngstown's east side.

A couple dozen people stood on the bridge overlooking McKelvey Lake for a candle-light vigil.

In October 2000 the body of 20- year-old Clarence Anderson, Jr. was pulled from the lake. He had been shot. His killer was never found.

"I think that pastors and people in Youngstown need to come out from behind the pulpit and start reaching out to young people because this generation is so lost. They are just killing each other," said Taneasha Anderson, the victim's sister.

A fund has been set at Huntington Bank for Anderson's 13-year-old daughter Janikqua Anderson.
