YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Thirteen area football teams have clinched a spot in the upcoming 2012 Ohio High School Football playoffs. However, Campbell Memorial could be number 14 if Bishop Rosecrans beats Fort Frye Saturday.
Teams that have clinched include:
DIVISION I - Warren Harding , Austintown Fitch
DIVISION II - Howland
DIVISION III - Niles, Hubbard , Poland
DIVISION IV - Brookfield, Liberty
DIVISION V - Crestview, Ursuline
DIVISIVON VI - Warren JFK, Youngstown Christian, Western Reserve
It appears there will be at least one local -local matchup in Division III with Hubbard and Niles. The Eagles handed the Red Dragons their first loss, 43-13 back in week 7.
There will be another rematch with Poland and Marlington. The Dukes beat the Bulldogs 10-3 on a late touchdown in week one.
Trumbull County is sending sevens schools to the postseason, with at least one school in every division, except division five.
Howland and Poland are making their sixth consecutive playoff appearances, the most of any other area teams.
