PITTSBURGH (AP) - It didn't take long for a Pittsburgh tattoo parlor owner to figure out how much her new floor covering was going to cost.

But it's taken Mel Angst and her volunteer workers more than 300 hours to individually glue down 250,000 pennies.

Angst tells WTAE-TV the pennies are being glued in a pattern that recreates President Abraham Lincoln's profile on the 1-cent pieces at her Artisan Tattoo Coffee Gallery.

Angst says she found workers on Facebook who've agreed to accept tattoo credits in lieu of money. Angst says any workers who spent at least 30 hours on the floor will also get a free penny tattoo.

Angst got the pennies at the bank and says using 250,000 of them - or $2,500 worth - means her 800-square-foot floor is costing her about $3 per square foot.
