Superheroes join forces to promote literacy

WARREN, Ohio - Superheroes joined forces to make reading an adventure for kids in Warren.

Children with special needs who go to Summit Academy Community School got a chance to become a superhero Wednesday night and have their photos taken with Spiderman and Venom.

Later on Batman and Robin were expected to arrive to show how reading can be fun. Each student went home with a superhero book.

"We are having a literacy night to kind of get our kids involved more in reading and we've brought the superheroes down from Cleveland. Our school's theme is superheroes. Every classroom is named after a superhero," said Allison Glass, Principal of Summit Academy Community School of Warren.

College students from Cleveland helped out at the event and are planning more events for the kids.
