Newton Falls man sentenced for possessing child pornography

NEWTON FALLS, Ohio - A Newton Falls man is sentenced to eight years in prison for possessing child pornography.

Thirty-eight-year old Paul Bidwell was arrested after authorities searched his home and found sexually oriented images of children between the ages of three-months and four-years-old.

Bidwell pleaded guilty earlier to 17 charges.

    The Ohio Supreme Court is allowing offenders sentenced to death to appeal directly to the high court when an application for DNA testing is rejected. The new rule adopted by the court Monday resulted from a decision last year in which the court declared part of a state law unconstitutional for limiting appeals by death row inmates seeking DNA tests.
