Group raising funds for injured crossing guard in Austintown

Updated:

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - A group in Austintown is working to get the community to come together and help a crossing guard injured on the job.

Shirts are being sold to benefit Darcy Fletcher a crossing guard who was hit by a car Thursday on Idaho Road.

Fellow crossing guard Erica Ciolli says they're hoping to sell enough of the shirts to help Darcy.

"She was unemployed. She had lost her job so she was doing the crossing for the schools. We would greatly appreciate anybody to buy a t-shirt. Flyers will be sent out to the schools for the kids to take home so we hope a lot of people will get these t-shirts," Ciolli said.

Darcy is in stable condition and shirts cost $10 each.
