Warren councilman inducted into Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame

Updated:

WARREN, Ohio - Warren Councilman Bob Dean has been inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame.

Dean becomes the third veteran from Trumbull County and the fifth African American to be inducted statewide.

Dean was honored for his community service for the annual Coats for Kids Giveaway and Gifts for Veterans in Ohio nursing homes.

"It's in fact an honor. It makes you really humble when you go down to Wright Patterson and you realize there are veterans who do great things and just an honor to be among them to be wearing a medal that says Veterans Hall of Fame. I enjoyed every minute of it," Dean said.

Bob Dean served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired from the military in 1982.
