HOWLAND TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Multiple fire crews were called to a barn fire near Howland Township after witnesses say they heard several explosions.

The barn that sparked shortly after 7:00 p.m. Tuesday was located on Basswood Drive.

According to fire crews, the owner kept several automotive tools in the barn that may have caused the explosions described by witnesses.

"Three or four, maybe five [explosions went off] afterward when they were fighting it," said neighbor William Parker. "The building is like a body shop, plus he has a lot of mowers and stuff so there were probably gas cans exploding at the time inside."

No one was injured in the fire. At this time the cause was still under investigation.
