Suspect in Warren murder appears in court

Updated:

WARREN, Ohio - A suspect in the deadly weekend shooting in Warren is held on two and a half million dollars bond.

Another suspect is set to appear in court on Thursday to answer to the same charges.

Twenty-five-year-old Dale Hatch made his initial appearance in Warren Municipal Court on Wednesday.

He's charged with aggravated murder in the shooting death of 32-year-old Marco Dukes.

Dukes' family says they want justice served for the Warren father's death.

"All I know he was trying to get himself on the right track. He had his kids at the house. He was set up. Drive came over to visit and set up. And I don't think it's fair that they walk free and he's dead," said Valerie Redd, Duke's aunt.

"We recovered some evidence, some shell casings things like that. At least one weapon is in our custody and it will all be sent off to BCI and I (Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation) for testing. But, like I said, the investigation is still ongoing. And we're going to grind it out until we get everybody in custody that needs to be," said

Twenty-two-year-old Derrick Peete is the second man facing aggravated murder charges.

The charges for both suspects carry a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Peete is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

Police have not indicated a motive for what led to the fatal gunfire.
