SHARON, Pennsylvania - Christmas arrived in downtown Sharon Thursday night, as the community celebrated the annual "Night of Lights."
The festivities included the traditional lighting of the downtown Christmas tree, as well as the lighting of the torch, a symbol of the holiday season for all denominations and religions.
The night wasn't complete with out a surprise visit from Santa, who repelled off the side of First National Bank with the help of the Sharon Fire Department.
The celebration is a way of promoting downtown Sharon.
The community welcomes holiday shoppers, reminding them that the weekend after Thanksgiving is Small Business Saturday.
