Pavlik's next fight could be in January in LA

Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Former middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik is set to return to the ring early next year.

Details are being finalized for Pavlik to face Andre Ward on January 26th in Los Angeles.

Ward will be Pavlik's stiffest competition since losing the belt to Sergio Martinez more than two years ago.

Ward is the current WBC and WBA Super Middleweight Champion.

He beat Chad Dawson in September.

Ward is 26-0 with 14 knockouts. Pavlik is 40-2 and has won his last four fights, including the last against Will Rosinsky.

If the fight takes place, it'll be at the Galen Center in Los Angeles and is expected to be televised on HBO.
