Salem couples continue 20 plus year Thanksgiving tradition

Updated:

SALEM, Ohio - Two Salem couples dedicated to giving back pulled off yet another community Thanksgiving celebration.

For more than 20 years, Jeff Schoch, his wife and another couple from Salem have served a Thanksgiving meal to the community.

There are dozens of volunteers that help with the cause from donating food to delivering it to the members of the community.

There were more than 440 advanced requests this year.

Although the group served well over 700 people in just three hours, Schoch says the event gets larger each year.

This year volunteers traveled to Lake Milton, East Palestine, Beloit and East Liverpool to drop off food.

You could also sit down at the Memorial Building in Salem for lunch, which included all the traditional turkey day fixings.
