YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Three families were honored for their efforts to help others in the region.
On Saturday, children and relatives of Fred Perry were awarded the Presidential Volunteer Service Award.
Over the past 22 years they have raised money through the Fred Perry Motorcycle Run to help children's charities.
Mike Griffin, a 30 year volunteer for the American Cancer Society, and Jeanie Duffy, a volunteer advocate for the elderly, were also recognized.
Ohio State Representative Ron Gerberry presented the awards on behalf of President Barack Obama.
