Penguins make All Conference Team

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Despite not making the playoffs, the Youngstown State football team placed a half dozen players on the All Conference Teams.

Junior offensive guard Chris Elkins was a first team selection. He started 11 games and is the first offensive lineman to be named first team since 2008.

Senior tailback Jamaine Cook was a second team selection and well as tight end Will Shaw.

Cook was the second leading rusher in the league, averaging 122 yards a game and was second with 11 touchdowns. He was a first teamer last season.

Shaw caught 35 passes for 430 yards and five touchdowns. This is the first time he's been recognized by the Missouri Valley Conference.

Rounding out the All Conference players are defensive tackle Aronde Stanton, offensive lineman Lamar Mady and quarterback Kurt Hess. They were all honorable mentions.
