Mark Stoops has accepted an offer to become the head coach at Kentucky.

The 45-year-old Stoops was the defensive coordinator at Florida State and prior to that served under his brother Mike at the University of Arizona for eight seasons.

He was also an assistant at Miami, Wyoming and South Florida.

Stoops is a finalist for the defensive coordinator of the year award after leading the Seminoles to an average of 263 yards per game, tops at the FBS level.

Stoops will coach the Seminoles in the ACC Championship game on Saturday and then be formally introduced Sunday at Kentucky.
