Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio  -  A Boardman man with a history of violence agrees to plead guilty to the attempted murder of his wife on Monday.

You may remember that John Sylvester held police at bay for hours on the Market Street bridge back in June.

He threatened to commit suicide after allegedly stabbing his wife at their home.

Sylvester pled guilty to attempted murder, kidnapping, and two assault charges, including one involving an injury to a child.

Prosecutors are recommending Sylvester spend 16 years in prison.

He will be sentenced by Judge R. Scott Krichbaum in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court on February 6th.
