YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Kelly Pavlik tells 21 Sports the postponement of the Andre Ward fight next month in California works in his favor.

Ward (26-0) was forced to postpone his Super Middleweight Championship bout against Pavlik (40-2) because of a shoulder injury suffered in training earlier this week.

"It helps me out, allows me to get more training in, and works in my favor," Pavlik said.

Pavlik will now spend the holidays in the Valley.

He hopes the fight is rescheduled for late February or early March.

"This will be the toughest fight of my career. Andre Ward is one of the top pound for pound fighters out there," Pavlik said.

Pavlik is expected to begin light training this week.
