Unemployment rates the lowest since 2008

Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The nation's unemployment rate is now the lowest it's been since December of 2008.

It dropped to 7.7 percent in November. That is close to the latest local unemployment figures for Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties at 7.2% percent.

Ohio's latest unemployment rate sits at 6.9 percent.

The federal government says Superstorm Sandy had only a minimal effect on the figures as hiring remained steady during the storm.
