AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Union members at Austintown's police department are putting food on the table for people at the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley.

Two officers from the department arrived at the Mission on Friday afternoon bringing $400s worth of food.

The president of Austintown's Fraternal Order of Police says his fellow officers like to help everyone in Mahoning County, not only those who they serve daily in Austintown.

"Every year our FOP contributes some money or check to some organizations and this year we wanted to do something different. We wanted to purchase the food items that the mission actually needed for their families and the people who they serve," Jeffrey Toth, President FOP Lodge 126.

The Mission has reached out to many organizations and agencies throughout the community to see if there is any help they can provide to the Mission at this time of year.
