State representative wants lion share of shale boom jobs for Ohioans

Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A local legislator wants Ohioans to get the lion's share of shale boom jobs.

State Representative Robert Hagan is offering an amendment that would require oil and natural gas companies to hire at least sixty percent of their workforce from Ohio.

Hagan accuses his Republican colleagues of not taking his amendment seriously.

On Monday, Governor John Kasich expressed concern over the lack of Ohioans applying for oil and gas drilling jobs.
