NORTH JACKSON, Ohio - Jackson-Milton Schools will make another attempt to pass two levies next year.

On Wednesday night, the school board approved two renewal levies for the May 7th ballot. One of them is the 4.9 mill renewal that failed in November. The other is a .9 mill renewal.

Both will generate revenue that will allow the district to maintain its daily operations.

"The 4.9 levy generates about $980,000 dollars, so there's absolutely no way we can lose that from our budget. We did lose $1.8 million from tangible personal properties from our budget for the next several years so we can't afford to lose anymore," said Kirk Baker, Superintendent of Jackson-Milton Schools.

The district will put together a levy committee in January.
