GIRARD, Ohio - Girard's mayor and city council are at odds over the installation of new water meters.
On Wednesday night council approved the ordinance in a five to one vote with one council member being absent.
Mayor Jim Melfi says he will veto the measure because the city was just released from over a decade of fiscal oversight in June.
He also thinks the city should wait to purchase the $1.5 million dollar meter program until the Girard Lakes are paid off by 2015.
