Mercer County Commissioners approve tax increase

MERCER COUNTY, Pennsylvania - Mercer County Commissioners unanimously approved a 1.9 mill tax increase.

Of that tax approved on Thursday, 1.5 mills will go to the general fund and four tenths to debt relief.

The tax goes into effect on January 1st.

Commissioners say this is the first tax increase since 2009.
