Students at Youngstown school bring a little Christmas to kids at the Rescue Mission

Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A group of Youngstown elementary students are once again helping to make the holiday brighter for other children.

Students at the Molly Kessler School were busy on Friday putting together gift bags for more than two dozen children staying at the Rescue Mission.

Their teacher, Courtney Cruz, says it's been a student project for the past two years.

"They can't wait to get to the Mission. They've seen all of the gifts come in. They've been bringing things in themselves so they're very excited," Cruz said.

The gift items include hats and gloves, toys, snacks, toothbrushes and other hygiene items.
