Valley law enforcement official writes Christmas book

Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A familiar face from the Mahoning Valley's law enforcement community has a very special talent.

Lieutenant Joe Dragavich, an Ohio State Highway Patrolman, has written and published a Christmas book called "The Empty Hook."

The book, with detailed colorful illustrations, is about the true meaning and gifts of Christmas. The story is centered on a man who uses his gift of glass blowing to make Christmas ornaments and bring joy to others that will last for a lifetime.

Dragavich says, "Over the last couple of years you see the push back against what Christmas is all about. And obviously for our generation, the commercialization of Christmas and just maybe sometimes we lose sight of what it's all about. It's not about packages, ribbons and presents. It's something as simple as a gift that God gave you that you can share with somebody and you can bring joy and maybe just make somebody's life a little bit better, even just for a moment."

The book, "The Empty Hook," is listed on Amazon and is available at Barnes and Noble as well as WestBow Press.
