Officers turned up the weapon buried in the snow, not far from a Miller Drive home where a homeowner tells police, he was assaulted by two men who knocked on his door and offered to shovel his driveway.
The victim says the men then pushed him down and ransacked his bedroom. The homeowner says they took his handgun and shot gun.
A witness told police that he saw two black males run to a light-colored SUV and travel north on Atlanta Avenue.
