WARREN, Ohio - The sound of gun fire rang in the New Year in the city of Warren where police are now investigating the city's second shooting since the turn of the calendar.
The most recent crime scene unfolded on the southeast side of the city. Police believe that a feud erupted into gunfire just before 4:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at a party on Colonial Street.
Officers found blood, shell casings, and several rounds fired into a car.
Witnesses told police they saw a wounded man walking along nearby Adelaide Avenue. Officers brought a tracking dog to the scene, but did not locate the suspect or the victim.
"All the detectives are pretty much stretched to the extreme with their case loads. Everybody is pretty burdened and we're just kind of sifting through and trying to solve each case as it comes," said Lt. Dan Mason with Warren Police. "Obviously the more burden the more it slows down the progress of us being able to resolve these cases."
At this time police do not believe the incident is related to a deadly shooting that happened at a downtown Warren bar just hours after the New Year, but say the investigation is ongoing.
