WARREN, Ohio - Warren police detectives say they're close to solving a hit and run accident that injured a biker on New Year's Day morning.

At about 3 a.m. that morning, Harold Rice, 48, of Warren, was knocked off his bike and out of his shoes at the intersection of Summit and Tod Avenue.

The suspected vehicle was traveling west on Summit Street and was described by Harold as a 2000 beige Lincoln. Police discovered a license plate 150 feet away from where Harold was lying. It's uncertain if the plate belonged to the vehicle that hit him.

Police say they have a few leads in the case, but so far no arrests have been made.

Harold was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital where he received medical treatment for his injuries. As he remains hospitalized in stable conditioin, a Huntington Bank fund has been set up in his name to cover medical expenses.
