Youngstown man charged in motorcycle gang crackdown

Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Youngstown man charged in a nationwide crackdown on motorcycle gangs was sentenced in federal court on Thursday.

Forty-seven—year-old Frederick Morgan, also known as "Low Rider," was ordered to serve nearly seven and half years in prison.

Morgan pleaded guilty to racketeering charges for crimes that occurred in July 2011.

Federal agents say Morgan was the regional vice president for the Wheels of Soul motorcycle club, a violent outlaw motorcycle gang.

The indictment says Morgan kidnapped a member of a rival Youngstown motorcycle gang, the Joker's Wrath Motorcycle Club, on Market Street.

Morgan threatened to kill the victim and members of his family.
