Rugby clubs hold fund raiser for Youngstown police officer

Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown Women's Rugby Club and the Steel Valley Men's Rugby Club held a We've Got Your Back winter tournament on Saturday to help a Youngstown police officer in his battle with cancer.

Thirteen teams from across the region, and as far away as Indiana and Cincinnati, took part in the rugby tournament.

The groups are raising money to help Rick Gaisor who is battling melanoma. The teams say Gaisor is out on sick leave and needs help.

The teams also held a rugby social on Saturday night at the B&O in Youngstown for some fun and food.

All proceeds from the events will help Officer Rick Gaisor in his battle with cancer.
