COLUMBIANA, Ohio - Agents from the state are taking part in an investigation into the Columbiana Drug Task Force.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigations confirms that the state auditor's office is reviewing the task force's financial books.
Former Drug Task Force Director Dan Downard, who works for the Lisbon Police Department, has been on paid administrative leave since November 26th.
Attorney Chris Amato confirms that Downard has hired him.
No one has been charged with wrongdoing at this time.
BCI will turn over its findings to the sheriff's department and or prosecutor.
