Mathews student charged with making threats

VIENNA, Ohio - A Mathews High School student is accused of making threats against the school Wednesday morning.

Police tell 21 News Justin Westbay, 18, is charged with inducing panic after he was overheard telling students there would be a shooting in the school's cafeteria.

Superintendent Lew Lowry said Westbay was overheard making the comment during a class change and was immediately taken to the school office, where police were contacted.

Lowry said Westbay admitted to making the remark and was taken to Girard Municipal court for arraignment.

Westbay did not have any weapons on him.
