Pretrial set for Austintown domestic violence case

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- The pretrial hearing for an Austintown man accused of threatening his daughter and his brother with a shotgun is set for Feb. 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Austintown Municipal Court.

Steven Eddy, 37, 4203 Crum Road,  faces two counts of domestic violence and inducing panic after he threatened to kill his daughter and his brother then himself at about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The Austintown police and Mahoning Valley Crisis Intervention Team were called to Eddy's home, where the incident took place, after the victims fled the house.

Eddy cooperated with law enforcement and the situation was resolved without any injuries.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
