WARREN, Ohio - Warren City Council President Bob Dean is calling for change in city government.

Dean picked up petitions to run for re-election, saying this would be his last term.

Dean also called for making changes in the size of political wards to reflect the fact that Warren's population has dropped below 45,000.

"We looked at rightsizing our wards. We looked at rightsizing our police dept, rightsizing our fire dept, but we haven't talked about rightsizing our council members. Youngstown has seven council members, warren has 10. I don't know why we need that many," Dean said.

Dean is also calling for term limits for city office holders. Dean believes limiting the number of times someone can be re-elected would motivate elected officials to work harder to make the city better and safer for residents.
