NILES, Ohio - The Niles Police Department, added two new members and promoted one of their own on Thursday.

Family and friends looked on as Frank Masurri and James Reppy joined the ranks as patrolmen.

Detective Dan Adkins, the first canine officer at the department, was promoted to lieutenant.

Five officers retired last year and one more plans to retire at the end of this month.
