HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - The new crop of Pennsylvania lawmakers has taken the oath of office and Gov. Tom Corbett is preparing for his annual budget address in about two weeks.
Among the items on Corbett's agenda are the state's pension costs, transportation infrastructure spending and liquor and lottery privatization.
Lawmakers are talking about a need to create more jobs and are likely to soon address recommended improvements in state child abuse laws.
Corbett has a lot at stake politically in what happens this year, as he is expected to seek re-election in 2014.
