BESSEMER, Pennsylvania - Unions often use a giant rat when they protest, but a farmer and her supporters in Lawrence County are making a statement with a giant pig.

Magaret Henry's organic pig farm is just 4,100 feet west of a newly constructed gas well on Route 108 in Bessemer, Pennsylvania.

She and many of her customers, who do not want to see the integrity of their food compromised, locked themselves to a giant, paper-Mache pig on Sunday afternoon at the entrance of Shell's well.

"People buy my food because they know that it is literally the purest that you can get. My animals run around out on ground, in pasture. They're not cooped up in cages. They're not fed antibiotics to keep them healthy. They're not fed growth hormone to get them fatter faster," Henry said.

The farm has been in the Henry family for many generations.

Other Pennsylvania residents who have been affected by gas drilling in their communities also joined Margaret.
