The Youngstown State men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 match to Toledo on Friday at the Boardman Tennis Center. The Penguins dropped four matches in three sets and came up just shy for the doubles point.

In doubles play, Dawoud Kabli and Sebastian Hagn defeated the Rockets' Bryant Dudzik and Terence Weigand 8-5 at No. 1, but dropped a match at No. 3 as UT's Grant Adams and Francisco Stuardo beat YSU's Silviu Mistreanu and Felipe Rosa 8-1. In the deciding match, Nicky Wong and Ryan Jorgensen defeated the Guins' Rodrigo Campos and Zeeshan Ismail 8-7 to go on top 1-0.

The first concluded singles match as a 6-3, 6-0 decision by Adams over Hagn at No. 2 singles giving the Rockets a 2-0 lead.

Then midway through singles play, a power outage in the area at approximately 2:45 p.m. caused a lengthly delay. Finally around 6 p.m. the match resumed.

Once the match resumed, the Rockets (6-3) bounced back after four Penguins had picked up first set victories.

Mistreanu dropped a 6-4, 7-5 decision at No. 1 as the Penguins trailed 3-0.

At No. 6, Victor Theorin dropped a 6-7, 6-1, 6-0 match to Weigand and then Kabli lost 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 to Ben Brocker at No. 4. Campos fell 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 at No. 5 singles before Ismail dropped a 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 decision to end the match.

YSU (0-2) returns to the court on Feb. 15 at Western Michigan.
