Trumbull County readies for expanded oil drilling

Updated:

WARREN, Ohio (AP) - Trumbull County is getting ready for expanded oil and natural gas drilling.

County commissioners have received a fourth road use and maintenance agreement from the horizontal gas and oil industry.

But for now, the county engineer's office says the drilling will be vertical test wells.

Agreements before the commissioners specify road improvements and repairs the driller will make to roads used for hauling rigs.

The agreements also specify road bonds and insurance to protect the county.

According to our print partner, The Vindicator, the county also is reviewing requests for pipeline construction to get oil and gas to market.
