YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Environmental Protection Agency has released its latest information on the biggest producers of greenhouse gases in the Valley.
The latest information available is from 2011 and puts RG Steel at the top of the list.
Spewing out more than 2.5 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, RG Steel closed last year.
The EPA says that greenhouse gases are linked to climate change.
The power plant in Niles is number two on the list.
It emitted nearly 208,000 tons of carbon dioxide, followed by the Arcelor Mittal Coke plant in Warren with nearly 185,000 tons of greenhouse gases.
