Annual gathering of clinical trial software community offers opportunities for insight and learning.

Waltham, MA (PRWEB) February 07, 2013

The 2013 OpenClinica Global Conference will take place June 21-22, 2013 at the Sheraton Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. This event is open to all who are looking to obtain insight, learn useful new skills, and build relationships within the growing OpenClinica clinical trial software community. More information is available at https://community.openclinica.com/conference.

The conference is currently accepting early bird registrants, as well as proposals for speaking sessions and technology demonstrations. Submission guidelines may be found on the conference website.

“The OpenClinica community consists of users and developers distributed throughout the world, so this is a unique opportunity for high quality face-to-face interaction,” said Ben Baumann, Chair of the OpenClinica Conference Committee. “Attendees should find this year’s event to be the biggest and best yet.”

The 2013 conference includes formal, multi-day classroom training, as well as a series of ½ - 1 day long hands-on workshops, covering areas such as regulatory compliance and validation, web services and integration, advanced edit checks and rules, and important considerations when moving from paper to electronic data capture (EDC).

Kicking-off the conference as keynote speaker is Douglas Bain, a recognized veteran in the eclinical industry who has worked in a leadership role with many prominent clinical research technology leaders including IBM and Medidata. In his address, Mr. Bain will focus on the emerging dynamics of patient centered clinical trials.

“I am thrilled to deliver the keynote at this year’s OpenClinica conference,” said Mr. Bain. “Clinical research modalities are changing, and I look forward to sharing my insights into where things are headed with such an innovative community.”

Conference attendees are invited aboard the Odyssey for a dinner cruise and unique views of the city from Boston Harbor.

Also in Boston, immediately following the OpenClinica Global Conference, is the 49th DIA Annual Meeting, June 23-27 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.
