WARREN, Ohio - In celebration of the school's 35th anniversary, the Trumbull Career and Technical Center dug up a time capsule filled with items from nearly a quarter century ago.

The contents were on display for students, many of which would not have been born when these memories were put underground, on campus to see Thursday morning.

Hand written messages, newspaper clippings and magazine images from the late 1980's were spread out so they could dry out.

"I was 17 when they buried the time capsule, so it was a little special for me," says Jason Gray, director of the TCTC. "You know, 35 years is a long time and I hope that we're going to be here for a lot longer."

The unearthing of the capsule kicks off the beginning of the school's anniversary events that will be happening throughout the spring and fall.

"We're going to showcase where we were and where we've come and the changes that have happened from vocational education to now career and technical education," Gray says.
