Howland to give away smoke detectors

HOWLAND TOWNSHIP, Ohio - In response to a high volume of fire activity in the township, the Howland Fire Department is holding a smoke detector give away Saturday.

The Bolindale Fire Station, 3403 Ridge Rd., will give away one smoke detector per household for Bolindale area residents who can show proof of residence in Howland and a matching photo ID.

The program will take place at the fire station Feb. 9 between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
