No end in sight in strike at Phillips Manufacturing

Updated:

NILES, Ohio - Five months and counting and there's no end in sight to the strike at Phillips Manufacturing in Niles.

Fifty steelworkers walked off the job in September in a contract dispute.

The city of Niles has filed a charge against Phillips alleging that the company violated the city ordinance against hiring strike breakers.

That case is still pending in court.

"We're going to stay out here and we're not putting up with it. We're just asking them to be fair with us and treat us like loyal employees like they always said that we were," said striking worker David Hanshaw.

Congressman Tim Ryan recently met privately with a company executive in attempts to help settle the dispute.
