YSU football program losing two more assistant coaches

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Youngstown State football team is losing two assistant football coaches to bigger programs.

Sources tell 21 Sports Director Dana Balash that Andre Coleman is leaving to become the wide receivers coach at Kansas State and Louie Matsakis is leaving for the University of Kansas.

Both Matsakis and Coleman were brought in under Coach Eric Wolford three years ago.

Coleman, a Hickory graduate, was the receivers coach the past two years and before that tutored the tight ends. He played at Kansas State, under Bill Snyder, where he was a first team All Big Eight selection his senior season.

Matsakis is returning to the Kansas Jayhawks where he was their running backs coach and special teams coordinator from 2007-2009.

That makes three assistant coaches who have left the program for bigger opportunities. Frank Buffano left earlier to join the University of Kentucky.
