Mahoning County prosecutor asks Ohio Supreme Court to hear case

Updated:

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Supreme Court says it will hear a 10-year-old murder case that has gone through five trials already.

The defense for 45-year-old Christopher Anderson argues a sixth trial in the case is double jeopardy.

Two trials have ended with hung juries, two others ended in mistrials and a conviction in the second trial was overturned.

The Mahoning County prosecutor's office requested the Ohio Supreme Court hear the trial after a failed attempt to have Anderson's appeal dismissed.

Anderson is charged with murdering 22-year-old Amber Zurcher.
