WARREN, Ohio- The case is building against a Trumbull County man accused of rape.

Daniel Miller's bond was increased Monday morning to $300,000, up from $250,000.

The 47-year-old Amish man from West Farmington now faces 17 counts including rape, gross sexual imposition and sexual battery.

The counts involve seven alleged female victims. All were under the age of 13 at the time of the alleged incidents, some as young as five-years old.

The Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office was notified of the alleged sexual conduct by Trumbull County Services. Assistant Trumbull County Prosecutor Gabriel Wildman says the county agency stumbled upon evidence while investigating a separate matter.

Given the nature of Miller's religion, Wildman says this was a tough case to build.

"There was some trouble initially, obviously, because there's a lack of wanting to disclose these things, there's a lack of wanting outsider involvement, so I think that can make prosecution and reporting of these cases tricky at first," Wildman said.

If he's convicted on the indictment as it stands, Miller could be sent to prison on multiple life sentences. Miller will be back in court in early March.
