U.S. Rep. Ryan meets with gun owners to discuss solutions

WARREN, Ohio- Ohio gun owners and sportsmen met with Congressman Tim Ryan Tuesday to discuss solutions as Capitol Hill eyes new gun laws.

The meeting at Ryan's downtown Warren office focused on finding ways to keep firearms out the hands of criminals and those who suffer from a mental illness.

Hunters, fisherman and gun enthusiasts hope the answers to recent gun violence don't negatively affect their sport.

Suggestions on how to separate those who should have access to a gun were shared.

"We are willing to subject ourselves as a legal firearm owning community to certain hurdles to go through to make sure guns stay out of the hands of the people who aren't supposed to have it," Denny Malloy said, of Whitetails Unlimited.

Congressman Ryan says he hopes to host more meetings with gun owners before presenting his findings to the House of Representatives.
