CANFIELD, Ohio – A Tuesday afternoon fire forced traffic to take a detour around a busy intersection.

Fire crews from Boardman and Canfield battled a smoky blaze in an empty building behind the Goldstein Furniture Outlet at 224 and Tippecanoe.

The Canfield Fire Chief tells 21 News that there was a worker re-routing water lines inside the building when the fire broke out.

The worker suffered minor burns to his hands.
